The Layla Hybrid features layers of copper-infused memory foam, springy pocketed coils and a firm base. It’s also flippable, giving sleepers two firmness options.
These specifications sound fantastic, but do they make for a comfortable mattress? I will test its construction, feel and how it feels.
To whom would I recommend Layla Hybrid mattress?
This bed absorbs motion well and is perfect for couples. This allows for restful sleep, even if there are twists and turns in the bed from your partner. The mattress’s edge support is excellent, making it seem larger. To feel supported, you can spread the mattress out.
The mattress is suitable for back/side and side sleepers. The firm side will support and comfort back sleepers of average weight.
You can flip the Layla Hybrid to determine if you prefer a soft or firm mattress.
Layla Hybrid mattress not recommended.
Stomach sleeping may find the mattress too soft. Stomach sleeping might need a firmer mattress to support their hips.
Although the memory foam mattress’s sinkage can be offset by the mattress’ pocketed coils, the mattress is not strong enough to support heavy sleepers who weigh more than 300 lbs.
How Firm Is the Layla Hybrid Mattress
Firmness is subjective, just like other feel factors. My coworkers helped me to determine the firmness of my Layla Hybrid mattress. I tested it, and they gave me a rating.
Layla Hybrid comes with two firmness options so you can pick the right level of support for you. After examining the Layla Hybrid, I decided to give both its firm and soft sides a 5/10.
The feel of the hybrid mattress was quite impressive to me. The Layla’s firm side gave me the support I needed to move and change positions easily. Although the Layla’s soft side gave me pressure relief at my hips, shoulders and hips the firm Layla side allowed me to sink in the mattress. This could be a plus for those who love the soft foam feel but dislike the feeling of being stuck in the bed.
Layla Hybrid Mattress Performance
While firmness is a great characteristic, it is not the only thing to look at when buying a mattress. I did a number of tests to get a better idea of the Layla Hybrid’s performance. I tested how the mattress performed in various sleeping positions and how it felt under pressure. It also evaluated how it would be for couples sharing the mattress.
Layla Hybrid Mattresses have been tried in many sleeping positions
Different sleeping positions require different support levels.
The Layla Hybrid is a good mattress for light sleepers (under 130 lb).
Light Back Sleepers: Light back sleepers think that mattresses can be a bit more firm than they advertise. So, the soft side is my recommendation. They will feel the mattress contour to your lower back. This can help relieve pressure.
Side Sleepers With Light Weights – Side sleepers with light shoulders and hips will love this mattress. It contours to their bodies, relieving pressure from their hips and shoulders.
Light Stomach sleepers – The Layla should feel firm enough to support light stomachs.
